Spay-ghetti Dinner

Help stop pet overpopulation! Join the Randolph County Humane Society for a SPAY-ghetti dinner on Sat, March 7th at the American Legion Hall in Elkins from  5:30pm to 8pm. Take outs are available from 4:30pm to 5:30pm or dine in and join in on a human society animal slide show, drawings and cash prizes. The menu includes spaghetti (with meatballs or marinara), garden salad, italian bread, homemade desserts and water/iced tea (soda or wine available and sold separately). Tickets are $8 for adults or $4 for children under 10 and can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling the Randolph County Humane Society at 304-636-7844 (online at rchs-pets.org).


Cake Walk in Harman

Cake Walk, Saturday, March 7, 6:30pm, Harman School… Doors will open at 6:00pm. Concessions will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Kindergarten class field trip to Pittsburgh Zoo.

Fundraiser to benefit Helen Howell

A fundraiser Spaghetti Dinner/Cake Walk to benefit Helen Howell will take place at the Randolph County Senior Center on Saturday March 7th. The spaghetti dinner will featuring St Patrick's famous spaghetti from Coalton served from 4pm-7pm. A cakewalk will begin at 6pm. Other events include live music, a 50/50 drawing and more. Please plan to come out for a fun evening to help Helen in her fight against breast cancer. Tickets are $7 for adult, $3 for children under 10. Dine in or carry out.

Dance for grades 6-8

The Elkins YMCA will hold a dance for all students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades (any Middle School - not just Elkins) on Saturday March 7th from 7pm - 9pm in the YMCA Gym. Admission is $5. Concessions will be available. This event will be fully chaperoned. For more information, call 304-636-4515

2015 Polar Plunge in Buckhannon

This year, the Annual Buckhkannon Polar Plunge will have people "Freezin' for a Avery (a very) good reason". This is a fundraising event to help with the expenses  of Avery Thacker (daughter of Tom & Alicia Thacker), who is in need of a liver transplant. The plunge will take place at the Wood Street boat ramp on Friday March 20. A costume contest will begin at 5:30pm with the plunge at 6:00pm. Registration is $25 ($20 with a student ID). Donations will aslo be accepted.

Scotty McCreery Concert

“American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery will perform at Harper-McNeeley Auditorium at Davis & Elkins College. Saturday, May 2, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The concert is a collaborative effort between Davis & Elkins College and the Elkins/Randolph County YMCA, with proceeds benefitting the restoration of the YMCA pool. Tickets are $30, $35 and $40 for reserved seating and they may be purchased online at www.dewv.edu/arts-entertainment/ or by calling the Davis & Elkins College Box Office at (304) 637-1255.
