The Marine Corps League of Elkins, WV, will begin taking application for Toys for Tots starting November 12 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Saturday, until December 12. No application will be accepted after 5:00 pm, and no phone messages will be returned, unless it has been prearranged. No phones will be answered on Sunday or Holidays.
Toy Drop-Off points:
Will be all of the Dollar General Stores in Elkins, Buckhannon, Weston, Philippi and Belington. Also this year there will be boxes place at K-Mart, Aaron’s Rental in Elkins, Big Lots, Applebee’s Elkins, Walgreens and CVS Drug store in Elkins.
Additional Drop-Off Points in Buckhannon & Weston:
VFW/American Legion in Buckhannon, Smitty’s Suzuki Rt. 33 and Buckhannon Toyota on Rt. 33. In Weston, WV at H & M Motors on E. Third St. and for the Middle School kids at Robert L. Bland you can talk to Mrs. Gandee for your instructions as to what you will need to do. Also the Dollar General Store on Elizabeth Dr. Weston will take your toys.
Bob Thompson's Joy to the World featuring Heather Masse on December 13th 7:30 at the Myles Center for the Arts, Harper-McNeeley Auditorium on the campus of Davis and Elkins College. The jazz-themed holiday show produced by West Virginia Public Broadcasting, features pianist Bob Thompson, saxophonist Doug Payne, guitarist Ryan Kennedy, bassist John Inghram and drummer Timothy Courts along with vocalist Masse. Barbour County Shop with a Cop Program basketball game is December 14 at 6pm at Philip Barbour High School Gym, Adults $3.00, Kids $2.00. Winter Clinic Practices - Once a week practice with a Valley Soccer Academy coach to help your player throughout the off season. Will start the last week in November and continue through February. Players U9-U14 will practice in small groups according to age.

The Elkins Randolph County Library reading hour for 3 and 4 year olds and caregivers continues until Memorial Day 2014 (except for holidays). The free reading hour is from 10:30a-11:30a in the downstairs reading room. Including reading, coloring or other activities and a snack. Children must be accompanied by legal caregivers.
